Redmi K20 Pro Review

The Redmi K20 Pro, a product by Xiaomi was launched recently on 22nd of July, 2019. This is the official date. The company launched this smartphone on this date in India. The smartphone comes in two RAM variants. After it's launch, the Xiaomi company claimed that this product will be the cheapest smartphone in the digital market which provides a Snapdragon 855 Chipset. The product literally proved it. Design

The Redmi K20 Pro was launched before some time but the product does not lose its fame because of its thoughtful design. With its launch, the phone shakes Indian market with its variant colours. Redmi K20 Pro has three colour variant options. They are as follows: Carbon Black, Flame Red, Glacier Blue and Pearl White. The product dimensions are as follows: 156.7 × 74.3 × 8.8mm. The screen size is approx 6.39 inches. The product weighs around 191 grams. Redmi K20 Pro has a Super AMOLED display. Super AMOLED displays are claimed to be 20% better than AMOLED displays as they consume less battery and provide brighter colours. However, it doesn't show natural colours but again who wants natural if we have a more vivid version of every photo. The screen resolution is 1080 × 2340 pixels with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. You will get an 86.1% screen to body ratio. Redmi K20 Pro comes in the list of HDR10 displays followed by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

 

Price and specifications

 

The Redmi K20 Pro comes at a budget-friendly price of 28,999. The company claims that this is the most affordable smartphone which supports Snapdragon 855SOC. The smartphone will be available in two storage options. There will be a one with 6 GB RAM with 128 GB Storage and the other will provide 8 GB RAM with 256 GB storage in 28,000 and 30,000 respectively. The Redmi K20 Pro consists of fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro and proximity sensor. The network technology that the phone supports are GSM/HSPA/ LTE. Also, there will be space provided for dual nano-SIM cards on the corner sides. It supports WLAN (Wireless local area network)  of WiFi 802.11 a/b/gn/ac, dual-band, wifi direct and hotspot.

 

Performance and Battery

 

The Redmi K20 Pro will work on the operating system of Android 9.0 (Pie), MIUI 12 and it is upgradable to Android 10. The chipset the system will use is Qualcomm SM8150 Snapdragon 855. The processor will work on Octa-Core processing specifically the CPU is of Octa-core (1×2.84 GHz Kryo 485 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 485 & 4×1.78 GHz Kryo 485). For graphics, the device has an Adreno 640 GPU. The Redmi K20 Pro has a 4000 mAh non-removable battery made from Li-Po. It also delivers 27W Fast charging and USB Type C 2.0 or USB On The Go. All these features give the phone a long battery with fast charging.

 

Camera

 

The Redmi K20 Pro backside will be seen with a triple camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor giving all the pictures a brighter and more vivid colour. The telephoto camera provides a 2× Zoom. The camera also offers panorama, HDR and Dual LED Flash. The 48-megapixel camera has an aperture of f/1.8. For selfies, there will be a dedicated 20 MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.2. The main camera gives a resolution of 1080 pixels as well as the selfie camera. The Redmi K20 Pro is perfect with its camera setup and quality. Another important factor about its camera is it gives sharp and bright images in low light or performs well with its video too when it's dim.

 

Verdict

 

Basically, the product comes out with quite favourable responses from the buyers. Most of them liked the overall features of the smartphone which includes a super amoled display, 20 MP Popup selfie snapper, inbuilt display fingerprints sensor, full HD screen display and many more features. Also, they have done good homework in both hardware and software. You will be impressed with the overall product. The population which is more familiar with a notch display will experience some problems to settle down with it's no notch display. But don't worry you will be amazed to know that the full screen compliments its whole body and design.

 

The Redmi K20 Pro has a decent performing processor with an absolute fantastic battery backup. The camera quality of the day and night both are good but I am not surprised as I was already expecting this from a 29,000 Xiaomi product.

 

Some people are not ok with the price. It's absolutely fine but remember the Redmi K20 Pro consists of a Snapdragon 855 processor complemented by a Super Amoled display screen. Both these features are included in the Redmi K20 Pro which is for 28,999. Other than that you can also check out its competitors which are available on online stores. However, Redmi K20 Pro is a better product giving sufficient features so that you can enjoy your day.
